As part of Innovation Catalyst, VitalSix will deliver corporate innovation and corporate venture programmes

The benefits for everyone of collaboration between corporates and small and medium sized businesses is well documented. Corporates innovate more quickly by working with qualified scale up companies with great ideas: smaller businesses can fast track access to new markets when partnering with a corporate to extend their proposition. Corporates invest in new ideas through direct investment, mentoring and business skills training

These relationships are not easy to start or manage:

  • corporates need innovation but don’t know how or where to find new ideas in an effective and efficient way
  • smaller businesses are concerned about long drawn out projects that are a drain on scarce resources
  • confidentiality, ownership of resulting intellectual property and the contracting process are all potential barriers to successful relationships

For the last few years VitalSix has been pivotal in successfully managing open/collaborative innovation projects with a number of corporates to enable joint development to rapidly build new products and services. We also work with corporates that invest in new ideas and support and train the management teams to be better able to scale up their businesses

The Good Kitchen

The Good Kitchen, one of the KellyDeli Foundation's projects, provided funding, business training & mentorship for organisations working to solve food poverty wherever it's found. VitalSix was delighted to have partnered with The Good Kitchen, Europe's first accelerator to tackle food poverty.

Centrica's Ignite Programme

VitalSix is proud to have worked once again with Centrica on the Ignite programme, the UK’s first impact investment fund with a focus on energy. We believe that energy entrepreneurs have a vital role to play in building a better society and we’re here to help them achieve their potential. The Ignite Big Energy Idea invests people and money into emerging and mature organisations that have a clear vision of how they benefit society. By focusing on energy, the programme is driving innovation at every point of the energy chain – from sourcing and generation through to supply, service and saving energy.

Thanks to backing from Centrica, £10 million wil be invested over the next ten years with up to £2 million invested in the UK.

Jaguar Land Rover

JLR and the connected car - JLR is constantly seeking software developers and potential new partners to create vehicle centric apps. VitalSix and its technical partner Rishtec, have worked with JLR over the past few years to find, introduce and help manage new product development projects that resulted in the commercialisation of great new apps for JLR’s connected car technology platform.
